The G-Funk Band is a dynamic 7-piece Funk/Disco band based in Melbourne, Australia, formed by accomplished musicians with extensive live performance experience across a variety of musical projects. Each member brings a diverse musical background, drawing influences from Latin, Jazz, Pop, Rock, and Funk traditions.
Founded in 2021 by Gus Garces during the COVID lockdown, The G-Funk Band began as a funk recording project. Following an enthusiastic response and growing support, the project evolved into a live performance band in 2023, driven by the members’ passion to continue developing as artists and entertainers.
The band’s distinctive style blends classic and contemporary funk and disco hits with infectious grooves, funky guitar riffs, punchy horn arrangements, and powerhouse female lead vocals. Delivering an energetic, high-impact live show, The G-Funk Band creates an unforgettable musical experience that gets audiences on their feet and dancing.
